Electrospun Sericin/PNIPAM-Based Nano-Modified Cotton Fabric with Multi-Function Responsiveness

There is a significant interest in developing environmentally responsive or stimuli-responsive smart materials. The purpose of this study was to investigate multi-function cotton fabrics with surface modification on the nanoscale. Three technologies including electrospinning technology, interpenetrating polymer network and cross-linking technology were applied prepare sericin/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/Poly(ethylene oxide) nanofibers, which then grafted onto surfaces textiles endow outstanding functionalities. properties evaluated via SEM, DSC, pH-responsive swelling behavior test contact angle measurements. results demonstrate that method, responsive, thermo- pH-responsiveness, fast formed, stimuli-responsiveness materials well controlled. In addition, antimicrobial testing reveals efficient activity sericin/PNIPAM/PEO nanofiber treatments against Gram-positive bacteria Gram-negative such as Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli. research shows presented strategy demonstrated great potential fabricated using our method.
